GONDAN GRP close to reaching workforce growth forecasts with 10 ferries for Transtejo
The construction of the ten ferries for the Portuguese company Transtejo is progressing at a good pace. Work is being carried out in parallel on the assembly and outfitting of the first (the launching of which is scheduled for this coming July) and the second one. Work is progressing on the lamination of the hull of the third and the lamination of the fourth will begin soon.
As announced, this project has led to a progressive incorporation of personnel to the staff at the GRP Division facilities in Muelle de Vegadeo (Castropol), reaching, at the moment, a number of 80 people.
At present, about twenty students from the Vocational Training course on the manufacture of fiber boats, which is being taught at the Integrated Training Center of Ribadeo, are doing their internships at the facilities of this Fiber Division.
